Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Darwin is a sweet Rottweiler mix puppy, who was surrendered by his previous owner, when they realized they didn't have enough time for him.
Darwin is a very clever and playful boy. With only moderate training to date , he already follows commands and does very well with positive reinforcement.
Darwin is all love. He is also very calm for a puppy, usually playing with his foster siblings, but enjoying napping in his playpen or laying under the desk next to you, or stay velcro with you.
Darwin is great with dogs of all sizes, and has experience with many breeds, sizes and dog personalities. While he hasn't been tested with cats or children, we believe he will be adaptable to any environment.
Darwin loves to play soccer and fetch. While outdoors, he will chase you around the yard, and enjoys engaging in fun high energy activities with toys or other dogs. He is also leashed trained and has been on short hikes at the park.
At his current age, we recommend he go to a household with children over 10, as he is in the teething stage of puppyhood - exceptions to this could be made in cases of families with prior puppy experience.
Darwin rides well in car, usually stays calmly in passenger seat, staring at his foster mom's face. He is an extremely sweet, obedient, loving, intelligent, and happy puppy.
Darwin is playful; enjoys playing with tennis balls, soccer balls and teething bones. while outside of the puppy pen, should be watched closely. While he’s high energy with the other dogs, he does calm down and will snuggle next to you on the sofa.
Our ideal adopter must have at least one other dog. Exercise and time allocated to professional training is mandatory. Socialization through daycare is always recommended.
Darwin is only 15 weeks old and already 35 lb and growing. He is current on his shots, kept on heartworm and flea preventative and deworming schedule. He is neutered and microchipped.
Sweet Darwin is being fostered in Texas, but can travel to any state, and even Canada for the right home.
