My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet our Chihuahua mix girl named Ginger Snap! Ginger Snap is about 2 years old and she came to our shelter after she was found alone in one of our city's parks. We immediately noticed her left eye was bulging out of her head and it was causing her pain. When her owner never showed up to claim her, we had her spayed and they also removed her eye. She has now almost fully healed and we can tell she is feeling much better! Our vet believes the eye problem was caused by glaucoma caused by an injury/trauma to her head.
Ginger Snap really bonds to her people once she likes them! She does take her time getting used to new people, and needs a patient owner who is willing to give her the time to show her true personality. Once she is comfortable with someone, she is a very silly, playful, and affectionate girl! She is a lap dog and wants to be with someone all the time. We are looking for a calm and quiet home for Ginger Snap where there are not a lot of visitors coming in and out. Ginger Snap is more comfortable with women than with men. She would do best in a home with only women, or in a home with a man who is extra patient and understanding with her quirks.
Ginger Snap is good with both dogs and cats. We are preferring she go to an adult only home. She is a very loving and friendly girl once she bonds with someone. Ginger Snap is looking for her forever home to show her she will never be abandoned again!

If there are other pets in the home they must be licensed (if a dog) and up to date on vaccinations. If there is another dog in the home a dog interaction must be done at the shelter before adoption, to ensure the safety and well being of all pets. All children in the home need to be declared and brought down to meet the animal.
Applications must be submitted and approved BEFORE a meet and greet can be scheduled to meet an animal.

An approved application does not guarantee an adoption. We do not hold animals for meet and greet appointments.
