Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Handsome Frankie is a 7 years old black and tan smooth dachshund and a chubby 18 pounds. Frankie is looking for a home that will help him continue to work on his waist line so he can becoming svelte and even more handsome!
Frankie is a very quiet boy and he rarely barks. He would like a low energy home with children over the age of 12 years of age. Frankie can be a bit nervous around men when he first meets them but quickly warms up to them, especially when he’s given cuddles and treats. Frankie has not been tested with cats. He is learning to be with other dogs and socializes with them, although he doesn’t like it when another dog tries to eat his food or approach his food bowl.
Frankie is extremely loyal and loving to his person and loves to cuddle. He walks well on a leash and likes to stick close. He can be playful and loves attention. He has been on a diet since arriving at his foster home in Ohio because he does need to loose about 2 pounds.
Frankie does well on a car ride and doesn’t seem to have separation anxiety. Before coming in to rescue, Frankie lived with his dad and spent some time alone in a house after things changed for him, with people only drooping by to feed him and occasionally put him outside. This caused some changes in his house training and he does now need to be reminded to go outside. He is mostly housetrained but his new family will need to be diligent in putting him outside on a regular schedule. All rescue dogs go thru a period of adjustment so understanding and patience is important. Frankie is crate trained.
Frankie recently had a major dental procedure and unfortunately he did loose many of his teeth. Frankie will need a soft diet in his forever home.
This quiet, loving boy deserves loving arms to hold and cuddle him. Are you going to be the lucky one to welcome Frankie home? Apply to adopt Frankie today!
