My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Patrick is in his prime.
He's at his physical prime, ready to join you in whatever activities you'll bring him along on. He loves rough housing with his foster brother, springing into the air to launch his playful attacks and spinning his way out of trouble.
He's in his mental prime, having just returned from six week's of intensive training as part of the Paws for Life prison program. Patrick knows more commands than any dog I've ever known, 24 I know of and still learning more. His obedience and smarts alone should have potential adopters banging down the doors at ACPB to meet this guy.
Did I mention he's handsome? Based on the size of his head, there must be Pit in there somewhere, but how do we explain the big magnificent ears and his silver gray coat and sleepy hazel eyes. Perhaps their is some Weimaraner in there too? The floppy jowls... only a DNA test will reveal the truth.
Patrick is also sneakily sweet. He comes off a little shy at first, but let me assure you, he is not. Patrick enjoys physical affection, leaning into you full body hugs, something many dogs don't enjoy, but Patrick craves.
To be a big dog at 70 pounds, he's surprisingly compact too, curling up into a tiny ball under this blankie when it's time for bed.
Patrick is crate trained and all around a quiet gentleman. He has a flexible energy and is wildly adaptable. But, the thing that is most important to know about Patrick is that he is ready, ready to find his forever person or family, he deserves it. And if you are the lucky one to adopt him, you too deserve a full life with a wonderful companion right by your side.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

Angel City Pit Bulls has dogs who demonstrate stable, fun, people-oriented, outgoing personalities- making them fantastic family dogs. We have a wide range of energy levels, so whether you are looking for a running partner, potential “therapy dog”, or a couch potato, we will typically have a dog that will fit the bill.

Our goal is to provide you with a thoughtful and personalized adoption experience. We will work with you to find a dog that is right for your situation. Many of the ACPB dogs live in multi-dog foster homes, and enjoy the company of other well-matched dogs and some even with well-matched cats. We are happy to assist with family pet introductions.

Our adoption center is open by appointment only. To get started, we ask that you fill out a brief application (link is above). Following that, you will receive an email with a link to set up a call with our team to begin the match-making and adoption process. We'll set up a meet and greet for the dog(s) you are interested in, including introductions to your family pets if needed. When you are ready to move forward with the adoption, we will arrange a home delivery to help you get settled in with the newest member of your family.

Resources, support, and education are always available, and you can expect an extensive level of knowledge and support from ACPB for the lifetime of your dog.

We ask for an adoption donation of $250 for dogs over 6 months old, and $350 for a puppy under 6 months old. This non-taxdeductible contribution assists us in continuing our mission to help more dogs in need.

More about this rescue

Mission: Angel City Pit Bulls is creating a better future for pit bulls by promoting their positive image as loving family companions through education, public advocacy, adoptions and owner support.

Goal: To reduce the number of pit bull terrier type dogs in animal shelters by increasing adoptions, providing community education to increase owner retention, and participating in targeted spay/neuter programs. As a member of the NKLA Coalition, it is our goal to be an integral part of making Los Angeles no-kill.

History: Angel City Pit Bulls is a 501c3 non-profit organization founded in 2010 to address the problem of overpopulation and high euthanasia rate of pit bull terrier type dogs in Los Angeles area shelters. ACPB continues to evolve through the efforts of dedicated pit bull owners, educators, rescuers, and supporters working together to respond to the challenges facing pit bulls in our community.
