August (or Auggie as he tends to go by) is an incredibly playful, sweet, and well-tempered pup. He and his sister, Willow, are very curious about their older foster fur-siblings and watch them intently as they learn how to “dog”.
While not fully house-trained yet, Auggie is working on it with minimal accidents in the house as long as he’s taken outside after eating/drinking; That’s about the extent of his preferred outside time given the Texas heat lately. While he prefers to bite his leash and lay down, he is slowly learning how to walk with one. He gets super excited about new people, but he’s also learning that jumping on/licking people is not the best way to express that.
During the day, Auggie plays and naps in the playpen with his sister while his foster parent works from home. They love jumping into the toy basket and playing tug-o-war with ropes until they wear themselves out. His favorite toy is a Kong with peanut butter!
Auggie has met children as young as 6 years old and was fantastic with them, but he has not encountered any cats. As for dogs, he loves the older, much larger dogs he lives with.
A yard somewhere cooler would be ideal for sweet Auggie, along with a schedule as he works his way through his puppy stage. Whoever adopts him better be ready for lots of love and kisses because he’s got lots to go around!
