Here's what the humans have to say about me:
We know Rusty looks like a big squishy teddy bear, but trust us, he is a dog! He’s a very loving and gentle one at that. Rusty has big soulful eyes that will melt the iciest of hearts. He has white tipped toes that make him appear as if he just dipped his little feets into a puddle of paint. He likes to lay around and receive all the love and scratches from his foster family. Rusty doesn’t know or he doesn’t care how big he is. He’s the first one to line up to sit in your lap & is a giant lovebug. Rusty can clear a coffee table with his wagging tail when he’s excited about seeing his people.
The day Rusty was saved from the shelter his foster family gave him a “baby.” This was likely his first stuffed toy he’s ever had and he’s dearly in love with it. Rusty will take it on walks and take it into his crate at night. He’s not too far from his sweet little baby at any given time. He doesn’t like to share his toys and we do suggest feeding Rusty separately from resident dogs. Rusty will likely need some time to settle into his new space and some guidance on how to share from his new family. He’s a sensitive boy and just wants to fit in. Rusty does not bark when meeting new people - he just wants to be included.
Rusty does well on a leash & is ready to learn some commands in his new home! Rusty does well in the crate and has been left up to 8 hours if his foster family needed to work a little long. Rusty is such a lucky boy as he was heartworm positive when he was saved from the shelter. He’s received treatment and now is fully vetted and ready to be adopted.
Look no further for your real-life squishy teddy bear boy, Rusty is ready and waiting to meet you!
