My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Siberian Husky
Age: 5-6 months old
Male, neutered
20+ lbs

Adoption Fee: $125 (includes spay/neuter, microchip, vaccinations)

Viktor was picked up as an injured stray puppy in Stockton, CA and brought to the ER vet. He had been hit by a car. He had an open compound fracture on one rear leg and a simple fracture on his other rear leg. He was transferred to the Stockton shelter, who then made arrangements for UC Davis to treat his wounds. UCD vets decided to amputate the leg with the compound fracture and repair the simple fracture. Upon the completion of the surgeries, he was transferred to Nobody’s Perfekt Dogs Rescue for recovery and fostering. Viktor (being very young) has recovered nicely from his surgery. Being on only 3 legs hasn’t slowed him down, but on the plus side, it will make it more difficult for him to escape a backyard by jumping over a fence (a notorious Husky behavior).

His a sweet, loving, playful puppy who gets along with everyone. He is being fostered in a home with other dogs of all sizes. Being raised with smaller animals should greatly reduce some of his prey drive as he matures (however, we would never put a Husky in a home with cats . . . ).

Ideally, we would like him to go to a home with other dogs (small and/or large) so he is socialized with a variety of dogs. He will be a puppy for at least another year. He will need LOTS of proper things to chew on. He should also work on crate training (he is doing well with house breaking, but you will want him to be comfortable in a crate when needed). It would be great if he goes to home that has experience with Huskies.

Please note that we don’t adopt any of our dogs out to homes with children under the age of 13.
