My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

She's looking for a home with friendly dogs, a secure yard, and plenty of love and patience. If you'd like to learn more about Fate's specific needs and arrange a meeting, please reach out to RachelW@almostthererescue.org.

Fate came into ATRs care in June 2022, after giving birth to 9 adorable pups. Prior to that, she spent over two years as a stray, closely monitored by HARTT. When she was pregnant, they were able to trap her so she could give birth peacefully. Because of her time as a stray, Fate was initially unfamiliar with human interaction and life as a pet. It took several months of work, including a successful stay at Board and Train which specialized in feral dogs. Fate made incredible progress under their guidance and is now ready for her forever home.

Fate has mastered leash walking, gained confidence in public places, and seeks affection from humans. Fate thrives around other dogs and decompresses by free roaming in a secure yard. Her ideal adopters will be understanding of her ongoing learning journey and open to continuing her training and providing a supportive environment without pushing her beyond her comfort zone. We hope Fate find her perfect match soon! To meet this pup, schedule an appointment by going to www.adoptapup.as.me and selecting Meet Our Pups! or Meet our Adult Dogs!

More about this rescue

Almost There Rescue is dedicated to saving mama dogs and pups, providing them care and enrichment, and finding them loving, forever homes.
ATR specializes in pregnant and nursing dogs and pups who need time and space to grow and become socialized. Our moms and pups have significant social time with adults, children, and other dogs. While in our care, our puppies go through a specially designed curriculum “Puppy Culture” developed by a team of experts including behavioral veterinarians and credentialed trainers. As soon as they are born and until they leave our care, our pups participate in age-appropriate enrichment activities to help with their socialization and overall development into well-adjusted furry family members. Our mama dogs also work with on site behaviorists who develop personalized programs to prepare them for life as your new best friend. All our dogs are exposed to many experiences to set them – and their new families – up for a lifetime of success. ATR is determined to give adopters all the information available about our dogs so we can find the perfect match. All of our dogs are altered, micro-chipped, and up-to-date on vaccines prior to adoption. Adoption fees paid help cover our substantial costs and fund our life-saving work.
