Meet Sophie! Where do we begin with Sophie? Sophie was abandoned in a crate on a vacant road in Cheektowaga with no food or water present in her crate, she was severely matted and a touch irritable, but wouldn't you be? Sophie required sedation in order to shave her down so she could feel some relief. It took Sophie almost 3 weeks to learn to trust humans again and it was a slow process, therefore Sophie is looking for her ideal home. Sophie has warmed up to all the staff at Cheektowaga Dog Control and has evolved into a loving, affectionate, and playful little shadow. Sophie is fearful at first when meeting strangers and it might take her a couple days to warm up to her potential adopters. Her ideal home would be one with other dogs and a patient owner that will give her the time to adjust and settle in.
