My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Heartworm Positive/Just finished treatment 04/2024

My adoption fee is $250 which covers my annual distemper booster, rabies, and being spayed/neutered and microchipped.

I am almost a 2-year-old and I act like it.

I talk, shed, and run like it’s my full-time job. I am FULL of energy and love to play play play and sprint everywhere I go!

I would love an active home or a home with lots of space for me to run.

While I like to play with other dogs, sometimes, I am the dominant and will be the dominant. I also resource guard EVERYTHING. I would be best as the only dog in the home.

A bath is not my favorite but I do enjoy playing in my water bowl so I might love a pool or the beach.

I love to talk and am learning to walk nice on a leash. I do well when there are no distractions, but I get excited pretty easy. Sometimes I walk on 2 legs when I’m excited.

I will not do good with smaller animals (cats, chickens, small dogs) as I have a high prey drive. I also play too rough with little dogs.

My foster mom calls me an aggressive lover because I have lots of love to give and I give it whether you want it or not (hope you like hugs and kisses!).

I’ve done well with children over 4 years old, but I might knock over toddlers on accident.

Oh, and I will bring you my water bowl if it’s empty. So don’t let that happen unless you want a good laugh.

More about this rescue

Arise Animal Rescue is a donation only, non-profit organization. We are a foster-based rescue which means all of the rescued animals are in homes with foster volunteers. Fosters ensure that the rescued animals are given a loving, temporary home. During this time, the fosters provide training skills, medical providence, and the necessary needs to recover from a life on the streets and the shelter. The rescue is given the chance to learn how to trust humans and to give/receive love.

Arise Animal Rescue goes to local high-kill shelters about twice a week to save dogs or cats on the euthanasia list. We ensure that these rescues are given age-appropriate vaccines, are spayed or neutered, microchipped (dogs only) and any other medical needs as necessary. The rescue has on average 50-80 animals at any given time in foster homes.

We take on many medical cases that require a lot of funds to pay for their medical needs and recovery. Some of our rescued animals have been shot, starved, parts of their bodies cut off, and/or beaten. As a rescue, we believe that every animal deserves a chance to fight for their life and we want to be able to give them the ability to do so.
For Arise Animal Rescue, it truly takes a village to help our rescued animals have a 2nd chance at a better and loving life.

Arise has weekly adoption events to help the rescued animals in foster homes have the chance to live a 2nd life with a new forever home.
