Additional info:

Shaggy is a very particular but nearly perfect dog. All he wants is to be with his person or dog siblings. He will be your little shadow and will follow you everywhere. He also LOVES napping. Shaggy likes to walk outside in the yard but refuses to go on walks as he hates having a leash on his neck and will immediately pump the brakes. Being a tripod hasn’t slowed him down- Shaggy gets around perfectly fine, can go up and down stairs, and jumps for joy when it’s mealtime. He is house trained and will stand by the door when he needs to potty.

If he is in a home with other dogs, it is best to feed Shaggy first as he is a little piggy and can be territorial. He gets along well with other dogs and has many friends who come visit our yard. Shaggy is sensitive in his midsection but is calm when picked up properly (we can show how!) Shaggy is also deaf and waits by the door and cries a bit when left alone. He will sniff under the door to see if you’re close by because he can’t hear. Shaggy loves to be scratched on his head and face and likes to give kisses.

Because he’s an older gentleman, Shaggy sometimes struggles to get comfy at nighttime. He usually starts out on the bed with his foster then goes to his own bed about an hour later and stays there til he has to potty in the morning.

Everyone who has met Shaggy has fallen in love with him. Shaggy needs a home with either someone who is home most of the time or who has another dog as a companion. Because of his refusal to walk on a leash, a yard is crucial. Other than that, someone patient and open to learning this funny guy’s idiosyncrasies would be an ideal human for him.
