My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

DECEMBER 2023: ADOPTION PENDING!!

Kelce arrived from Yellowknife on Oct 3rd (the NWT SPCA is packed with wonderful dogs looking for homes). She is super sweet and is settling in nicely in foster care in the tri-cities. Kelce is a Shepherd/Husky mix about 14 weeks old. She is doing well with other dogs and the 2 older kids in the home. House and crate training is also going well. If you are looking to adopt a pup please contact crossourpaws@gmail.com for details or visit our website crossourpawsrescue.com.

ADOPTING A FRIEND
It's important to consider the commitment and time that goes into caring for an animal. There are medical, food and training expenses etc. and more importantly your precious TIME. It's also important to consider the breed of dog you are applying for as well to ensure a great match for both. If you are not familiar with the breed research it on the net and consider it's traits before making your final decision.

All CROSS OUR PAWS adoptions begin with an application, followed by a home visit IF we feel the application is a good match for the animal. All CROSS OUR PAWS rescues are cared for in foster homes and in order not to be too disruptive to our volunteers, we pre-approve all applicants prior to a meet and greet. We recommend several meet & greets prior to adoption to ensure a "perfect" match. CROSS OUR PAWS will limit adoptions of our "special needs" animals to the Vancouver Lower Mainland areas so we can assist with any issues that may arise. It is also a policy if you have a yard, it MUST be FULLY secure at least in the rear. We do adopt to apartment/condo dwellers if strata permits and the dog is suitable to be in a multi-family complex living arrangement.

As we are all volunteers we try to reply as quickly as possible to all enquiries but it may take up to 3 or 4 days to do so. Emails with applications attached will be considered first. To follow the adoption status of our adoptable dogs (and cats) please keep checking our website (and facebook page) for updates and new rescue posts.

CROSS OUR PAWS RESCUE requests an adoption donation amount of $650 to $750 for pups under 2 years and $650 for dogs 2 to 8 years old (seniors vary between $250 & $350). CATS (seniors > kittens) $250 to $450. Unless Cross Our Paws Rescue and the adopter have entered into an agreement to the contrary, the adoption amount is non-refundable. This donation will help cover any vetting and care the animals may have required. If the donation exceeds the animal's vetting and transport, the remaining amount is applied to other dogs in need of rescue and care. CROSS OUR PAWS RESCUE is a non-profit organization and appreciates any and all help! THANK-YOU!!!

Foster Homes are needed for dogs waiting to come into our adoption program.

We are an all breed rescue so the size of dogs vary. Please email us for a foster application and to talk to one of our volunteers about any further information or questions you may require.

More about this rescue

Cross Our Paws Rescue is a volunteer run organization dedicated to saving dogs in BC/Canada who are in desperate situations of abuse or neglect and need rescue.
We provide the animals with necessary medical care as well as sterilization, a loving foster home and some basic training before they are adopted out to new
loving homes primarily within British Columbia.

We are funded 100% by generous donations from individuals and organizations. All proceeds go directly to the care and rehabilitation of companions in need of veterinary services, training and re-homing.

Cross Our Paws Rescue does not have a shelter facility and all companions in our care are placed in loving foster homes until they find the family that is a perfect match.

We screen all potential adoptive homes to ensure that they are the perfect match for both the animal and the potential home.
