My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Coming soon to California
Everyone meet Badger, a 2 year old Hungarian Mudi (please do your research if you have not heard of one, very rare breed that is not available to list on the adoption sites). Badger is a fun, sweet, affectionate dog who loves his people but does have endless energy. This dog really does need a job!

Badger came to us from a rural Central California shelter who was picked up as a stray. We know nothing about his background and how a dog like this wound up in a shelter as this breed is rare.

Badger is a super fun dog but needs some work on basic training like leash work and impulse control. He is good with most dogs and people! He LOVES to play with his foster brother and sisters. He is incredibly affectionate once he gets to know you and has a “soft” personality.
Badger needs a smart and savvy handler to help lay down boundaries. He is very receptive to correction and really wants to please. Badger would do best with someone who is familiar with the this breed or other working breeds. Badger is not content with just walks..he needs a JOB. He has been exposed to sheep and has incredible working instinct, tons of drive and is just fearless. He would make a good sport prospect too if handled by the right person.

Badger needs:
-A Mudi familiar handler or someone that has handled a dog from working lines
-maybe another dog for him to play with and learn from
-a large yard
-someone willing to work with him and take their time gaining trust with him
-someone that can handle a verbal dog! Yes, he is a barker but is mostly silent
-someone active or into dog sports (are you into stock dogs? Look no further, this little dog has it and stays out real wide, have videos).

Deal breakers
-apartments, duplexes, condos ex
-first time dog owners
-looking for a perfect dog (he needs time to build trust with people
-no yard
-not active

Badger is amazing..this is his fosters first time handling a Mudi and his foster says he is hooked on the breed now. Badger is smart, eager to please but can be very mouthy. He does resource guard toys and food with people he doesn’t know but this goes away once he trusts you. Badger can also be suspicious of strangers or people he has even met a few times but does warm up. Badger has gone to a few homes but they didn’t work out due to toy incidents and him nipping..but his foster says he has gotten so much better about this.

Badger is 24 lbs, current on vaccines, neutered and chippedZ If you are interested in Badger..please submit an application! The foster would love to go over everything with you.
