Meet Swizzle! This amazing girl is a German Shepherd who was born approximately March 16, 2021. She came to us very pregnant but has weened her pups and is now ready for a home of her very own! Here is a little bit about her: Swizzle is working on leash training and making great progress. She is crate trained but would prefer free roam and is housebroken. Swizzle does well with other dogs of similar size but would do best in a home without small dogs or cats. Swizzle's ideal home would be one that's familiar with her breed, has a fully fenced yard and if there are kids in the home, over the age of 5. True to her breed, she's very smart and will make the most loyal companion.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

We require an adoption application to be filled out which includes personal references. An in-Home check by a Mikey's Chance volunteer is also performed prior to adoption. Our dogs come to the adopter "ready-to-go" with current Vet health checks, all shots and vaccinations current and the animal spayed or neutered, as well as micro-chipped.

Our adoption process can take 2-4 weeks to process as we are run completely by volunteers, all of whom work full time jobs.

We depend on a network of volunteers and fosters for the care of our dogs. The dogs are fostered primarily in Tri-Cities, WA. We often have Meet 7 Greet events at Petsmart and Paws Natural Pet Emporium LLC both in Kennewick.

"Mikey's Chance" is a dog rescue organization organized under Washington State articles of Incorporation as a Non-profit Charity. We focus mainly on saving dogs that are at risk or on “Death Row” in shelters in our area, and placing them to great families. We work with individual adopters, private rescuers, and rescue organizations that share our values. All our dogs are up to date on shots, sterilized, and microchipped prior to adoption, and they are all carefully evaluated to ensure the best possible match with adopters.
