Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Hi everyone! I’m Frida, and I was just rescued by my new favorite people at Puerto Rico Dog Fund (PRDF). Although I had a tough time finding them, I am so happy they took me in. I have met so many great humans, including my foster family that takes me everywhere… I really dig riding in the open Jeep and going for beach walks. It’s so much better than what I left! They don’t even use a leash on me - I really don’t like those things - I just stay by their side and come running back when they call me; I am that cool!
I’m a medium sized dog, at about 30 lbs. I went to this place called the “vet” and they gave me some treats after getting checked out. I had all my vaccinations, my preventative medications like heartworm prevention and flea/tick treatments, and also was spayed so I don’t have to worry about babies.
I am self-sufficient and low maintenance and go to the potty independently outside when needed. I can do steps easily, I’m a great restaurant canine companion, although if a PR lizard runs past me all bets are off!I am very outgoing and really like people - kids included. I’m super quiet and watchful, but recently showed off my possession for my foster family when a big dog came up our driveway - I had to chase him off and bark my little head off! How rude he was to think he was “all that” and could come into my yard without an invite! For those dogs that HAVE been invited, I romp and play with them. We’re friends. When the day is over, I happily curl up in my crate and sleep throught the night.
Don’t I sound awesome?!?!? Apply to adopt me today! My adoption fee covers all the vetting / spay surgery I already had, plus it covers the airline fee to fly me to my chosen adoptive family. Because PRDF is a volunteer, non-profit rescue, they rely on other volunteers to be my Flight Companion and therefore my family needs to be flexible and be able to pick me up upon arrival at the airport (the PRDF volunteer staff will explain details during screening).
I hope to leave the island soon, and find my forever home!
