Meet Redds, the most resilient and sweetest boy you'll ever meet.
WHAT MY FOSTER SAYS ABOUT ME: Redds came into a local shelter completely emaciated. For a dog his size, he should be 60-70 lbs and was barely 30 lbs upon intake. Thankfully, an animal control officer brought in home-made food to keep him alive until Laila's Legacy could pull him out of the shelter. In partnership with our amazing veterinary partners, Redds has dramatically improved! He still has a little ways to go with his weight gain journey, but we know he'll get there in time!
As far as his personality, you would have no idea that he's had such a rough start to life. He has a zest for life and we just know that'll continue to grow as he heals. He loves balls...seriously, LOVES them. He will carry one everywhere he goes. On a walk? Got a ball. Going to take a nap? Got a ball. Going to get a snack or eat dinner? Got a ball. He will play with other toys as well, particularly ones that squeak!
He loves walks, especially the slower ones where he can sniff everything his heart desires. He doesn't pull on leash unless there's a really good smell to sniff, and he has good recall on a long-lead, although he's probably not a good candidate for being off leash completely.
Redds is a star at crate training. He's learned the command "crate and will willingly go find his way in and lay down. He will do it without complaint, but he usually gets a "cookie before the crate is closed. He settles down immediately and won't bark or whine, even when crated during a workday This, along with "place (his dog bed), are the spots where he can settle down and chill. Redds is the biggest couch potato, and whether he is sleeping on your feet or with his head in your lap, he will cuddle his humans endlessly.
