Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Alondra is a gentle senior with girlish good looks, a quiet personality, and a genuine love for people. Tell her she's a pretty girl and give her lots of pets and affection and you will earn yourself a loyal friend for life. Bonus points given if your love language is rewarding with treats. She isn't shy about nudging her person or gently pawing them as reminder of how much she loves to be pet. To her, people and petting go along just like movie theaters and popcorn.
Alondra no longer races around the yard but prefers short sniffies in it. Her favorite activity is dog watching from a bed in the shade or sunbathing on the patio. She likes to take leisurely strolls, especially if there's a car ride first, but we are still perfecting her leash walking. When she sees or smells something of interest, she sometimes forgets there is a person on the end of her leash. Other times if she's REALLY interested, she will lay down instead of walking, to gain more time to investigate.
Her car skills are on point; she knows how to load and unload, waits patiently to be secured and released, plus rides nicely while occasionally looking out the windows. She knows not to jump around in the moving car and never tries to change the radio!
Alondra is more of a people person than a dog person. She doesn't mind them, especially if they have an energy similar to hers, but is fully aware that they don't quench her desire for petting and certainly don't distribute praise or treats. She is cautiously choosy when meeting new dogs so slow introductions, respect for space, and proper integration is a must.
She is always a proper lady in the house and adapts to routines quickly. She never potties inside or chews things that aren't hers. She doesn't mind being by herself and will lay quietly in her crate occupied by chews. At night she might sleep in her crate, a comfy dog bed, or yours if you invite her.
This good girl is so deserving of a good home! She has absolutely thrived in a foster home but is searching for something more permanent. Will you be the one to open your heart and home to Alondra?

Our mission is to provide the programs and services needed to eliminate the killing of at-risk animals due to lack of space, adopter or foster.
San Antonio Pets Alive! is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. Due to alarming euthanasia rates, San Antonio Pets Alive! (SAPA!) was founded in 2012. SAPA! is unique—it is the only high paced, high-volume rescue in San Antonio, saving 6,000 at-risk cats and dogs annually.
Since its inception, SAPA! has saved more than 47,000 dogs and cats. SAPA! provides safety nets for the dogs and cats that fall through the cracks of all other lifesaving options and end up on the euthanasia lists, often with just hours to be saved. SAPA! promotes the availability of these dogs and cats to other rescues, adopters and fosters.
