My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Andre – Your Big, Fluffy Shadow of Love

Who says love only comes in small packages? Sometimes it comes in an 85-pound bundle of fluff with soulful eyes and a heart full of snuggles. My name is Andre, and at 6.5 years old, I'm basically a living, breathing teddy bear looking for a forever cuddle buddy (or a whole family of them!).

I might be a Great Pyrenees mix—or maybe just a mix of pure adorable—but one thing’s for sure: I’m all about love, loyalty, and snack time. My dream life? Taking walks with my people, playing tug with a furry sibling, keeping watch like the noble guardian I am, and most importantly… snuggling away your loneliness.

I know some cool stuff already—like “sit,” “touch,” and “down”—but I’m eager to keep learning! I’m new to the whole 'living indoors with a family' thing, so I’ll need a little guidance as I adjust. What I lack in experience, I make up for in heart and devotion. Honestly, I’d be a fantastic emotional support buddy—I truly need to be near my humans. What if they need a hug and I’m not there??

Here’s what I’m looking for:

A home with a fenced yard (because zoomies happen).

A family without small kiddos—I can be a bit enthusiastic when treats or snuggles are on the line!

A confident, playful dog friend would be amazing!

Humans who appreciate big love in a big package.

I’m affectionate, smart, protective, and full of joy—just waiting for someone to share it all with. If you’re ready for a devoted companion who will love you with everything he’s got, let’s meet.

Andre is ready to melt your heart—one snuggle at a time.

Go meet their pets

CAWS does not have a conventional shelter facility - all CAWS animals waiting for adoption are in foster homes. The number of animals we can help find new homes for is closely linked to how many CAWS foster homes are available. For additional information regarding how you, too, can become a foster, please see our fostering page located on our web site!

CAWS volunteers bring cats and dogs to the PetSmart near 2100 South and 300 West in South Salt Lake on the third and fourth weekends of each month

We are also at the Sugarhouse PETCO (1165 Wilmington Ave) the first Saturday of each month.
