Revlon is a tall, stout 10-year-old Missouri Fox Trotter who is ready for her forever home! She came to Longmeadow in May of 2023 with three other mares, all suffering from neglect. As soon as she was settled into Ranch life, her rehabilitation began.
Revlon gained weight very quickly after being started on a strict refeeding schedule. As she gained weight, she was seen by our vets and our farrier to begin her much-needed hoof and dental care. She excelled quickly and before we knew it, she was being evaluated by our trainer!
Upon evaluation, our trainer found that Revlon had very kind ground manners. Revlon stood quietly tied and enjoyed being groomed. When our trainers began her evaluation under saddle, Revlon would allow a saddle on her back. This made us believe she had a short history of some training. However, after Revlon began showing discomfort and pain while being worked on the ground, our trainer decided that she needed to be seen by a vet. After a thorough exam, our vets found that Revlon unfortunately has ringbone of her left hind pastern joint, which was causing that discomfort and pain. Although upset about her lost potential as an adoptable riding horse, we decided the best thing for this girl would be a life of relaxation and early retirement, pain-free. Revlon is now available as a pasture pet, but we don`t think she is too upset about that! Revlon is comfortable and sound without medication as a pasture pet and cannot wait to find a home with someone who will spend their days giving her the attention she deserves.
This beautiful girl would do best in a herd where she can be the boss! She is full of personality and very opinionated. Revlon enjoys her time spent in her pasture eating hay and being doted upon by our staff members. She is an easy keeper and would be a beautiful addition to your herd at home!
