My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Silly Billy is the kind of guy that gives you solid green flags on any given day - the class clown with a heart of gold He’s the kind of guy who won’t judge you for lounging around on the couch all day eating your way through all the snacks in the pantry (especially if you share with him). He’s a big fan of backyard cookouts and soaking up those famous Florida rays, he’ll even clean up after you so no need to worry about that! And he promises to sing your praises every single time you come home like every good man should!

They say laughter is the best medicine, and if that’s the case then Billy is the cure! Sir Billiam has had a full recovery from his dental (he had 9 pesky teefers pulled, poor guy) and says there’s nothing else holding him back now! Silly Billy keeps his foster fam laughing on the daily and his hobbies include: esplorin’, taking his toys out to the back yard to tan with him, curling himself into the tiniest, most adorable ball possible, and reminding you that his tricolor look matches any interior decorating!

Bill is people friendly, kid friendly, wildly dog friendly, and crate trained - need we say more?! We recently discovered that while Bill’s not one to be mean to a cat, they make him wildly nervous with their SUS feline behaviors so he kindly requests a cat free home. Bill even goes to work some days with his foster dad and makes a wonderful assistant. He is roughly 9-10 years old but has the spirit and heart of a much younger soul! He was found as a stray with his pal Ted in May and has been looking for a home ever since, and we say it’s high time he found it!

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

When you adopt a dog from Swamp Haven, you’re not just saving a life. You’re beginning a journey filled with love, loyalty and trust. Life can be busy and stressful. The companionship of a dog is a constant reminder to slow down and enjoy the little things. At Swamp Haven, our mission isn’t to just help down-on-their-luck dogs find their forever homes. Our mission is to create a lasting relationship with you and your family.
Adopt happiness. Our adoption process is unique in that we work with you every step of the way to ensure that we’re placing the right dog with the right family. First, chat with us about what you’re looking for in a dog and we will set up a time for you to meet the lucky pup. From there, fill out an application. Once reviewed we set up a time to bring your potential pup to your house for a home visit and trial week. We want to make sure it’s the right fit for both your family and the dog involved. We will be totally available during the trial week for any questions or concerns. The last step is to finalize the adoption. And then congrats, you’re a new member of the Swamp Haven family and your happy tail has just begun!

Our adoption fee is $350

More about this rescue

Swamp Haven is an animal rescue organization that takes down-on-their-luck dogs and nurtures them back to a healthy mental and physical state, so they can find their forever home. Our goal is simple. We save innocent dogs that have been overlooked by society and provide short-term care including vetting (vaccinations, spay/neuter, microchip and heartworm and flea prevention) and training to learn how to walk politely on a leash, play in a pack and live calmly and lovingly in their new home.
