My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Ferris is the sweetest most loving dog who wants to please. He is ready for his forever home and would do great with a fun family! He loves to go on walks but is equally happy to snuggle on the couch and be lazy. Just happiest with his humans!

- crate trained and likes it, goes in there himself when door is open and when he sees me preparing a kong for him. very relaxed, does not try to break out, I think sees it as his safe space.

- perfectly house trained. he likes to drink a lot of water but has been a non-issue for accidents. does not mark.

- non-destructive, literally I have been leaving him out free in my spare bedroom 80% of the time because he is so well behaved. This is A BIG ONE because I almost NEVER do this with fosters

- does NOT bark!!! Rarely whines, if he does, it’s when he is NOT in his kennel and is dead silent in his kennel.

- a gentle, cuddly, love bug. is so happy to lay next to you and take a nap. his body is always touching me. he is good about matching your energy, be it for a jog around the block or a full day of laziness. loves to rub the top of his head all over me for attention but I think he is also showing affection this way.

- no resource guarding- he actually likes to play with his toys WITH you (ie: tug of war). I have been thrilled that he likes some of the dog toys that none of my other fosters have touched. I also am able to put food that falls out of his bowl back in his bowl while he is eating. When he fetches, he isn`t great about dropping it (he tries to put toy in your hand and initiate tug of war).

- loves food, very food motivated. has enjoyed every type of treat given to him. HOUSES his food, the previous foster had a slow feeder which he probably needs because he chokes himself eating so quickly but I don`t have one yet. He is skinny and needs to put some lbs on!!!

- quiet in my spare room. only heard him cry once, so I went in and turned on a lamp for him because it was dark out and he was good from there. I`ve been surprised that even when we are at home and we put him up in the room alone, he is still quiet and well behaved and not trying to get out of his room.

- strong on leash, we have been working on this skill! Using a waist leash and it makes so much difference. He is manageable on leash regardless, but when we walk super early/super late, and there is less stimulatio
