My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi! I’m Rita and I’m sooooo eager to meet you ‘cuz I adore people, belly rubs, ear scritches, playing ball, horsing around with a doggie buddy or two, and lots of walks. I’m 2 yrs old and my foster mom says I’m not exactly a puppy but not exactly an adult either. I have lots of good youngster energy but I’m also good at settling down when you need me to. The only thing my foster mom says I need to improve on is not chewing on soft toys so I’m working on that. Otherwise she calls me her “little gem” (I’m only 60 lbs). I’m not sure what that means exactly but I hope it’s good! I would love, love, love to have a dog buddy who will play with me! I’d also love to have a nice fenced yard where I can hang out a lot, ‘cuz I love the outdoors. I’d be a great buddy on hikes and walks, so a family who loves the outdoors would be a plus for me. I’ve never met a “cat” (not sure what those are) but I’m willing to learn. I just kind of love life!

My foster mom says I learn pretty fast, I think it’s because I love her and she’s so nice to me. I’ve learned to sit for my meals and treats, and am working on sit at the door. I’m mostly house trained and will go in my kennel though I prefer not to. My last family made me stay outdoors 24/7 and all I did was wander around the neighborhood making friends, but I was always crossing busy streets and dodging cars and they say I’m lucky I didn’t get hit. My foster mom says it was really dangerous so HAHS really, really wanted to get me safe.

Won’t you consider adopting me? I promise I’ll be your buddy for life and make you smile!

She’s truly a “little treasure” and one family is going to be VERY lucky to have this sweet young girl join them! That family will have many years of fun and love ahead. She would adore having someone home part of the day, or maybe a parent who works from home.

Rita is fully vetted (spayed, up to date on shots, heartworm negative, microchipped) and ready to go home.
