Sasha is so sad! She is wondering when it will be her turn to get adopted?
Sasha has been with PAWS Wide Open Rescue for A YEAR!!! She is around 1.5 years old, about 30 lbs,and is spayed and up to date on vaccines. She and her siblings were found starving on the streets of Puerto Rico with no mom in sight. A man was trying to poison her and her 3 siblings. Sasha is a sweet, goofy, quirky girl. She is shy but once she warms up, she is very snuggly and sweet. Now she is in Virginia Beach and looking for a family to love her and spoil her!
This shy, reserved girl takes a bit to warm up, but once she does, she becomes the most loyal, cuddly, and playful pup you will ever meet! Having a dog sibling is essential for her as she learns how to become the most confident version of herself. Sasha will thrive in a laid back environment with quiet family members and a dog best friend. She is house trained, friendly with every dog she has met, and has begun leash training, with the only obstacle being her nervousness. Though she can be timid, she is such a loving, sweet (and easy) foster!

Submitting an application does NOT guarantee adoption. If you apply for a certain dog but don’t get it, please understand that we may receive many applications for the same animal. We will always try to place the appropriate dog in the appropriate home.
Adoption fee is $275 (depending on expenses while in our care). We spare no expense on the care of our rescues and are looking for homes who can do the same.

PAWS Wide Open Rescue was founded in 2018. We are a non-profit organization composed of 5 women that was formed in hopes of providing a refuge for neglected animals on the island of the Dominican Republic. In the past year, we have also expanded our efforts to Puerto Rico, another underserved Caribbean island with a huge stray dog population. Unfortunately, the situation in the Caribbean is dire. The dogs multiply without end, many are poisoned, killed or starved.
In addition, we receive dogs from VA and NC kill shelters and also network with and support other dog, cat and wildlife rescues in our area.
