My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

Morel is a cat with a heart of gold searching for a mortal with a kind heart, gentle soul, and warm touch to serve as a lifelong companion for self and sister, Truffle, to continue learning about and appreciating life among humans. Morel is one of the most sensitive, kind kittens his foster has ever met. Since day one, he has always been at his happiest in the company of his friends. He loves other cats and is at home in the company of gentle dogs, big and small. Because he is so sweet and sensitive, his feelings get very hurt at any sign of aggression by other cats, making him a bit more susceptible to being bullied. When given the choice, he will always choose harmony over discord and will happily make the first move to become friends. A vocal kitten, he shares his love of mealtime, treats, toys, and attention with anyone who will listen. There is not a toy Morel has met that he hasn’t loved; he is especially fond of chasing a moving target piloted by his human companions. While snuggles are fine and dandy in his book, Morel is very sure of himself and would prefer to hang out beside his people as opposed to in their laps and is fine with lounging on a cat tree while his foster family goes about their business. Morel is content with life as long as he can be part of the family. As an older kitten, he is very bonded with his sister, Truffle, whose quiet, and accommodating nature complements his more outgoing personality and boosts his confidence in new situations and vice versa. Morel, like his namesake, is a hidden gem amongst a forest of kittens, waiting to share a lifetime of love and unwavering affection for the person lucky enough to discover him. He is waiting patiently with his sister for their human to find them and take them home. Could you be the mortal these adorable cats have been waiting for?

At Laramie Animal Welfare Society, the first step to adoption is completing an adoption application on our website www.laramieanimals.org. Once submitted, your application will be reviewed by our adoption team which typically takes 7+ days.  Keep in mind, the animal you’re interested in when applying may be adopted and no longer available by the time your application is approved. We do not place animals on hold.   Pending approval, your application is valid for 6 months. Also pending approval, you will receive contact information, so that you may inquire about the personalities of specific animals. Adoptions for individual animals will occur by private adoption appointment. Because we are 100% foster-based, appointments are scheduled pending staff, foster home, and vetting schedules.  Should you want to proceed with the adoption, a brief appointment will occur at our adoption center to sign adoption paperwork, receive medical records, and pay the adoption fee.

**Dog/Puppy applications -  Because of the large volume of dog/puppy applications we are receiving these applications may take longer to process, please be patient. We do not do first come first serve but we place the dog/puppy in the best suited home. If you have questions about the Dog/Puppy process please email lawsdogprogram@gmail.com**
