Hi! I'm Harley. The nice folks at The Street Dog Project rescued me off the streets in December 2022. A warm cozy bed and people who love me were the best Christmas present I've ever received! I'm a quiet, mellow fellow. My foster mom jokes that I'm an old man trapped in a 6-year-old dog! More about me:
-The basics: Born 1/26/2018; 47 pounds
- Favorite things: My favorite thing in the whole world is napping. And I've been told I'm very cute when I do it because I'm always showing off my belly. My second favorite thing is bread! I'll take bread any day over a treat.
- Training: I know how to sit on cue and come when called. I'm potty-trained and leash-trained. I'm a very good boy!
- My perfect home: I'm a fan of a low-key environment. But more and more I am enjoying playing with other dogs. I have 3 canine siblings I get along with and would do well in a home with or without other dogs. I prefer a home without kiddos, please!
- Adorable antics: I love watching TV! And I hear my tippy-toe dance I do when it's dinner time is very cute.
-Why you'll fall in love: I'll be your loyal companion for life. When my foster parents leave the house, I make sure to wait by the garage door until they return. I just want to bond with my people.
Can we sit on the couch and watch TV together forever?? To meet me, fill out an application. Questions? Please email placement@thestreetdogproject.org
Hope to hear from you soon!
Love, Harley

The Street Dog Project is comprised of a small group of volunteers who are passionate about saving street dogs in Dallas, TX. The majority of our team was previously heavily involved at another local street dog rescue but left for various reasons over the years. We wanted to save more lives so "got the band back together". We are an experienced team of rescuers, operating under a new name.
We have a lot of experience capturing elusive street dogs and helping them adjust to life in a loving home.
The dogs are taken to the vet upon rescue so they can be examined, dewormed, vaccinated, spayed/neutered, heartworm tested (and treated if positive) and attend to any other medical needs. Life on the streets is tough so a lot of the dogs we take in have beyond basic medical needs. Heartworm, mange, leg and eye injuries are some of the most common medical conditions we encounter.
We are an all-volunteer organization and rely on donations to save lives. Donations can be made by clicking the "donate now" button on our Facebook page or visiting www.thestreetdogproject.org. Thanks for your support!
