When Milo's family was moving, they packed up all their belongings, put them in the car and drove away, leaving Milo behind as simple as that. Milo sat in the driveway patiently waiting for them to return, day after day, as though he had faith they would come back to get him. But of course they never did. The neighbors fed him until someone finally called the animal control officer to come to get him. No surprise, he quickly became the favorite of everyone, and now we're trying to find him a home where people believe dogs are family.

How someone could let a boy go, who is this fantastic, is shocking. Milo is calm and well-mannered, affectionate and very even-tempered, highly intelligent and always kind. He needs a bit of work on the leash, but he's happy to play with anyone who invites him - - human or canine - - and he is fine on his own if you're too busy. Milo just never wants to be a bother to anyone. He truly appreciates human kindness, as though he thinks it's his fault his lousy family left him behind. The shelter director calls him an "A+ dog", an honor bestowed on only the greatest of the great.

We think Milo is about 4 - 5 years old, he weighs between about 70 pounds, and he's a very healthy boy. If you promise to appreciate Milo as much as he'll appreciate you, please visit www.pinkshelter.org for more information about the adoption process or click here for our online application. Full vetting, microchip and neuter included in his $475 adoption fee. Transport fee is additional $145. IF YOU HAVE AOL or YAHOO PLEASE CHECK YOUR SPAM FILE FOR OUR RESPONSE
