My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Whitby, named after the coastal town in Yorkshire County, England, is a sweet little boy who like many other dogs came to CAMO in rough shape. At 12 years old, he needed to be neutered and undergo a dental which left him with one tooth. It was discovered that he had an old fracture in his lower left jaw. But he eats softened kibble with canned food added with ease. He does have senior eyes but gets around very well.

His ears perk up when he hears his name inside or out. This little guy gets along with other dogs in his foster home. If he comes inside before his "girls, he often stands just inside the door waiting for them. It is almost as though he is counting them and making sure they are okay. He likes his daily walks as well as sniffing around in the backyard. He is just an all-around nice guy. Great size, very portable. He does fine in the car. Whitby is crate trained and working on house training.

If you are looking for an older gentleman who weighs less than 10 pounds, Whitby aka Whit, may be just right for you. He is looking for a calm, gentle, loving home with or without other dogs.

Whitby will be having surgery the middle of December to check his jaw, one remaining tooth and to close a hole from his previous dental. We want to make sure he is in great shape. So, if you are interested in this sweet little guy, please get your application in now.

Whitby's adoption fee is $150.

ALL adoptions require a completed application, vet check, home check and final contract. The application to adopt can be found at www.camorescue.com.

Adoption fees are variable. Up to date vaccines, microchip, spay/neuter are included in the fee.

Once your application has been approved, we will put you in touch with a CAMO representative to set up a meet and greet. We select the best applicant for each dog, based on the dog's needs. For the safety of our small breed dogs and based on our past experiences, we will not place our dogs in homes with large breed dogs.

More about this rescue

CAMO Rescue is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that offers life, health, and a forever home. We specialize in dogs that other rescues can’t or won’t take due to fearful nature or medical needs. We primarily rescue ‘euthanasia listed’ animals that are in immediate danger of death. We provide shots, spay/neuter, microchip, foster homes, food, medical treatment and love to dogs that are abandoned, unwanted or otherwise in need. We never euthanize an animal to make room for another. In addition to caring for our dogs and finding the best possible home for them, we provide education to the community; encouraging and promoting responsible pet ownership. If needed, our rescue dogs are retrained to socialize in an adoptive loving family. We have had phenomenal success, and amazing support from our community. We believe that animals, as living creatures are entitled to a quality life, respect and compassion. Since humans have domesticated animals, we have a moral and ethical responsibility to care for them. We are partnered with many Shelters to help them reach the same goal.
