My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Age: 9 months old

Gender: Female

Breed: Shepherd mix

Weight: 29 lbs

Personality: A true happy puppy, glad to be saved from the dump shelter. Very dog friendly (forgets her size around small dogs!) and is good with kiddos! Sweet girl, LOVES toys, loves other dogs, will do ANYTHING for a treat. She is the kindest, sweetest, silliest girl ever. She is so beautiful and her personality matches. She can play independently by herself and then find somewhere to go take a nap. She is extremely food motivated. She will be such a fun BFF for someone looking for a soul bond with a sweet little girl like her. Gets excited around new people, so much so that her puppy mouthiness comes through. Her foster is working on redirecting her away from nipping with use of some of her favorite toys to show her proper play and boundaries.

Education: Crate, leash, house trained, and dog door trained.

Favorite Activities: Food is first love! She loves learning commands with lots of positive reinforcement from treats. Loves toys and playing with other dogs. Loves taking naps.

Special Needs: Working on mouthing when over-stimulated and continued puppy training to be the best girl

Looking for: A family dedicated to puppy training and who will spend time with her as she grows up. She loves everyone! She is dog, cat and kid friendly! She can be mellow through the day once she gets her exercise and zoomies out of the way. Can stay alone and has no separation anxiety.Adoption Fee: $ 500

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

We prioritize local San Diego applicants. We do not provide transport of dogs to other states, and don't allow the dogs to fly in the cargo of the plane.
Our adoption process from start to finish, involves 3 standard forms, and 2 situational.
All potential applicants must be capable of providing their adopted pet with routine and emergency veterinary care (yearly health checks, keeping vaccinations current, heartworm/flea preventatives, and immediate care in the event the animal is sick or injured). They are required to license their pet, and keep an identification tag on their pet at all times.
All applicants must agree to a home check, and provide us with a veterinary reference, or personal references if you're a first-time pet owner. Our home checks are not to invade the privacy of the applicants, we do this to ensure the pet is going into a safe home. We do not discriminate against non-homeowners, or those living in apartments, condos, or otherwise.
Our adoption fees vary from $150-1000.
Applicants must agree in writing that if for any reason they are unable to keep or care for their pet, the pet will be surrendered back to our rescue and not re-homed, turned over to a shelter, pound, rescue, new owner, sold, etc.

More about this rescue

Overview
The Animal Pad is a nonprofit, all-breed dog rescue devoted to saving the lives of dogs facing euthanasia at high kill animal shelters and off the streets of Mexico. We rescue, rehabilitate, and re-home locally.

We are dedicated to animal advocacy, and educating dog owners on the importance of spaying and neutering their pets. We are a foster based rescue, and rely heavily on the kindness and generosity of the amazing people who make donations toward the rescue and care of the dogs we save.

We are always looking for adopters, fosters, donations, volunteers, etc.. Please let us know if you would like to get involved by contacting us at one of the email addresses found below.
