UPDATE via Facebook:
With what was likely the hardest thing the owner has ever had to do, Jin, now Finn, has come back to us for a bit. He and their other dog didn't see eye to eye during feeding times, so the owners felt it would be safer for all involved if they didn't keep him in that situation.
They did however let us know how amazing he was with their children, and both the former foster, as well as the owner think that he really does need a home with children, maybe not small children just due to his size, but definitely ones that love to snuggle on the couch with him. Finn did well with their other dog when it wasn't food times. Finn is likely going to need to be an only dog, or in a home where feeding times are controlled. We weren't made aware of any food issues when we had him with us last time, so it's been a mystery to all involved.
Finn is a 3.5 yr old husky mix (DNA proven!) with a few quirks, but lots of love to give. He is very attention oriented, so he's going to need a home with a family that is there more often than not. He has a lot of energy that the owner feels that if you took him for a run, he'd run for days. He'd do best in a home with a fenced in yard where he can run and chase a ball in addition to his walks, but mostly with people who he can show how much he loves them. He is quite prey driven so he wouldn't be able to live with any cats or small animals, he likes to chase them a bit too much, and we'd worry that he might accidentally hurt them.
If you think you'd like to foster Finn and/or eventually adopt him, we'd love to talk to you! Please message us directly on here as the messages come directly to me, and I can quickly answer any questions or inquiries!

JIN's earlier profile information:
Jin has been living it up at his foster home, but come December time frame, they're going to be moving overseas, so unfortunately, as much as they'd love to keep him, it doesn't look like it's in the cards for him. That being said, we'd love to start working on finding him his forever home sooner than later!
Jin is THE BEST dog anyone could ever ask for. He's Amazing with kids, awesome with most other dogs, is currently living with a gaggle of other animals in the country, so he's definitely a well rounded pup. We at the shelter think anyone would be lucky to have this amazing dog living with them. He's crated trained, but not a huge fan of being crated for long periods of time. He's definitely house broken. He has so much personality, all of us here at the shelter just adore him, and his fosters do too. If you'd like to consider Jin for your own family, please message us here and we can arrange to have a meet and greet set up with the foster family! He's just waiting to meet his forever family!

Jin is about 2-3 years old and loves attention and spending time with other dogs. (Tibbers, his canine brother, has already been adopted, but Jin has enjoyed playing with fellow adoptables at the shelter.) Jin is being rehomed due to extreme allergies of a family member.

Jin is playful, loves to push his food bowl around, and is good with dogs and cats (more like he’s a little afraid of cats). However, he does have a bit of separation anxiety which makes him sometimes tear things up if left alone (kenneling is recommended), and his smart and stealthy husky side shows itself when he does things like escape the play yard -- huskies are notorious for that!

Please email fortleavenworthstrayfacility@gmail.com for an adoption application if interested in adopting. Call 913-684-4939 to schedule an appointment to meet him.
