Hi, my name is Maggie Mae. I am a beautiful, happy, soft and sometimes shy girl that may take a minute to warm up to you. I usually feel more comfortable around women, but there are a few men that I absolutely adore. I love pets, hugs and kisses from the people that I'm comfortable around. I love my stuffed animals and I am the only one in this whole shelter who doesn't destroy toys! Walks are nice and I do really well on my leash. Sometimes I like to carry my stuffies in my mouth on walks with me. Have I mentioned that I really like treats, who doesn't right Sometimes they ask me to sit and then I get a treat. I am a pro at this and I bet I could be trained to do a lot of things with treats. I like almost every dog that I meet and most of them seem to like me as well. I love to run and be chased and I can play pretty rough with the dogs that like to play that way. I also love water! I love to chase the water in the hose and I like little swimming pools. Sometimes when I play hard with my friends at the shelter, I get a little muddy or grass stained and they give me a bath, it's like being at the spa. I just stand there and enjoy all the attention.
NOTES ON MAGGIE: She is an amazing dog, but she could use some support and training. In a previous home she was a little protective of the female in the home. Ideally she might do best in a home with females. But, we think she can overcome this behavior, she just hasn't been given a chance to adjust to a different living environment

More about this shelter
The Colony Animal Services strives to protect andTCAS LOGO-UPDATED nurture The City of The Colony’s lost, homeless, abused, injured, and sick pets. We seek to provide animals the opportunity to be reclaimed, adopted, rehabilitated, or rescued. It is the mission for the Animal Service Officers and volunteers to pursue a positive synergy and to serve the citizens and pets of The Colony.
Animal Services is committed to saving each and every animal that comes into our care. Over the last few years, we have improved our live release rate to 97%. We hold our standards high at keeping this percentage, and in doing so, we ask our rescue partners and citizens to help us pursue finding our animals forever homes.
Every year, we get over a hundred injured and sick animals that need our help. In order for us to help them, we use our donated medical fund to give them the proper care and treatment they need. The only way for us to provide this needed medical care is through our generous financial donors. Every penny donated is sent to our medical fund. Please help us continue this much needed medical care for our animals by donating. Even if you cannot donate, it is a huge help to share posts on social media.
