I picked up Birdie from a foster friend that was overloaded with other pets. She's 1.5 years old and I've had her for 4 months. She's been a great dog 1:1, even with other dogs. I've done some socializing with her and had several other dogs come through the house. She's mildly aggressive at first, but calms down after 10-15 minutes. She's (normally) protective of her food area and toys, only to other dogs, totally fine with humans.
She's generally fine around children as well, with the understanding of proper dog etiquette, in that you do not mess with her while eating or taking toys while Birdie's engaged. There was an incident in which Birdie bit a 10 year old, but this was against the parameters I spoke of. Birdie was in "zoomie" mode, throwing her ball around and the child went to hug the dog. Birdie turned and bit the child's face. It was immediately deescalated (the child is fine) and you can tell Birdie knew she messed up.
All in all, she's been a great foster dog.
