My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet adoptable Olaf

Olaf is a handsome 2 year old Belgian Shepherd mix. He weighs approx 50 lbs and is 26” tall to his shoulders. Besides his good looks, the very best thing about Olaf is his charming personality!

He is a friendly, good-natured, loving dog. He has a warm, affectionate disposition - he LOVES to be petted and never turns down an opportunity for cuddles. At the same time, Olaf is a fun-loving, active companion who enjoys long walks, park play, and exploring the outdoors.

True to the Shepherd breed, Olaf is highly intelligent, obedient, and responsive to training. He picks up new skills quite quickly and is always eager to please his humans. This guy is a great candidate for obedience training courses and we’re sure he’ll be an A+ student!

At his current foster home in Guadalajara, Olaf is fully house trained and crate trained. He walks well on the leash and has no problem with car rides.

Olaf is great with other dogs, just as he is with people. He lives with many doggies at his foster home, all ages and sizes. He is accustomed to the family lifestyle, being with adults, kids, and fur-siblings, as well as meeting visitors who come over. His fosters describe him as a social, personable dog who gets along easily with others.

Olaf was rescued from a very destitute area of Mexico where stray dogs are notoriously mistreated and abused. Sadly, Olaf was dumped in this neighbourhood and did his best to fend for himself. At some point during his time on the streets, Olaf suffered a traumatic blow to his lower jaw. As per the veterinary exam, it is most likely that he was forcefully kicked or had a heavy object thrown at his face. This caused a fracture in his lower right jaw which left him with a slight deviation, but it does not affect his ability to eat or function normally. It just gives him an extra adorable, goofy grin!
