Personality: Very shy (you are unable to touch this animal without it running away or being fearful, etc), Inquisitive, Playful, Energetic, Nervous

Favorite treats: Dried dandelion, rose hips, apple sticks.

Current Diet: Oxbow Essentials Chinchilla Food

Favorite toys and activities: Running on the wheel, out of cage time to hop around and explore, and dust baths.

Potty trained: No

This animal’s daily routine: Out of cage time twice a day. Reaching in to spot clean poop once or twice a day. Fresh hay, water, and pellets at night. Dust bath every other day. Weekly cage deep clean.

BFF (Does this animal have or need a friend of the same species in their home?): Mayfly & Junebug are a bonded pair and must be adopted together.

Health concerns: None.

Behavioral concerns: None

Mayfly & Junebug were transferred into our care when space became limited at another rescue.

Due to our rescue being foster-based, not all foster homes are located in Saint Paul, MN. This animal's foster parent prefers to meet at the PetSmart in Chuck & Don's Pet Food & Supplies, 910 Wildwood Rd, Mahtomedi, MN 55115 for meet & greets, & adoptions.

More about this rescue

MN Pocket Pet Rescue is a 501(c)(3) organization primarily serving the Twin Cities Metro Area, focusing on education and public outreach. Our intent is to keep all animals in their homes, with their families, whenever possible. We are committed to rescuing those pocket pets that are in jeopardy of being euthanized or are in danger of being abused, left unattended or in other types of vulnerable situations. We ensure all animals receive proper veterinary care, medication and special training for any behavioral issues, as well as to arrange safe, temporary homes for these animals until stable forever homes can be found. Our team is made up of enthusiastic volunteers who work passionately to serve the underrepresented and often misunderstood niche of pocket pets in the overall rescue community and general public.
