Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Tank (DOB:1/22), was brought to the shelter most recently on 6/23 and weighs 91lbs. If you are looking for a dog that has been through a lot and welcomes all kinds of love, Tank may be your boy. He was brought to the shelter at 3 months old, after reportedly been shot, and was adopted out but bought back to the shelter nearly 1 year later for his high prey drive for cats and chickens,
Tank is participating in the Wag 'n Train program learning basic obedience. He will need work on all other obedience training, including leash manners. He is a strong boy and pulls on his leash especially when excited. As with most dogs, he does better after he has had some exercise. Fortunately, he is very food/treat driven and is eager to please so he should do very well with additional training. He has been in our play group with some other dogs and has been fine with other dogs around. At two years old he doesn't play as much as some dogs but enjoys being out with other dogs.
Tank is great with adults and quickly bonds to people. While he has been good with dogs at the shelter, careful introductions to another dog in the household will be required. No cats or chickens. He loves kids and has let children of all ages love on him at outdoor events, but due to his strength and size , it is recommended that his future home be adult only or an older children household.
Tank has huge potential. He loves to ride in the car and travels great. He loves to be loved on and pet. He is really a "wanna be" lap dog in a big boy body. Tank would be a wonderful dog in just the right home. Tank's adopter needs to be fairly strong, be prepared to be firm and consistent with his training and as his pack leader to acclimate him to his new home.
Tank is up to date on vaccinations, neutered, and microchipped.
