My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Greetings, I'm Rocket, but I'm eager to embrace a new name if you prefer one. I'm one sharp pup who's ready to adapt. My journey began when I was just a few days old, found on the side of the road with my entire litter. I was bottle-fed and given a fresh start. Though I was initially adopted with my sister, circumstances led me back to the rescue, and now I stand as the last of my litter, yearning for a forever home.

In my foster haven, I've polished my house manners. I've mastered the art of crate and potty training and make splendid use of the doggy door. Toys are my jam, particularly plushies, but I must admit, distinguishing between mine and yours is a bit blurry. I might engage in a spot of 'suckling' before indulging in a lively play session, a quirk some might say is Freudian. I'm a real hoot, guaranteed to keep you amused.

Now, when it comes to love, food takes the cake (or bone, rather). I'm an adventurous eater who enthusiastically devours everything from veggies like spinach and carrots to all manners of doggy delicacies. I know the commands for 'sit' and 'crate,' and I'm diligently working on 'lay down,' although that treat dangling above is pretty distracting.

Exercise is also on my radar; I fancy our walks and wouldn't mind having them become a regular part of my routine. In my foster abode, I engage in playful antics with Mandy, my foster doggy sister, but I'm just as content to unwind. You'll be pleased to know I'm not a frequent barker, but when I do let out a bark, it's unmistakable - a deep AhROOO, with a houndy charm all its own. Could you be the one to make me a part of your forever story? I'm ready to be yours

Additional adoption info

Adoption application required. Adoption Fee is $200-350 local (Local is state of Texas) $500-800 for out of state adoptions (includes transport fees).. The higher prices for Purebred and/or highly desirable pets. Adoption application, adoption contract, return/foster agreement if dog doesn't work out in home.

We work hard to place dogs in the right homes, if the adoption does not work out and we have room to take the dog back into the rescue, we will. However, the sheer number of needy animals in Bexar county TX +usually means we become full quickly after the dog is adopted. So, in those cases we will post the animal, help the adopter screen applicants and help facilitate finding another home for the dog.
