My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

I'm introducing myself to you as a very independent, a little shy, and intelligent dog.

My name is XL Duck. And I didn't grow up socializing with people a lot. So it takes me some time to get used to new human beings.

But once I know you, you are my best friend. I love running, and running, and running. I met quite a few dogs at the shelter, and they all became my friends therefore I'd love the company of another dog in my new home!

When I was in a foster home, I was quiet and non-destructive, but preferred the company of other dogs. I've made a lot of human friends at the shelter, and I love to play with them and get scratches.

Their adoption process

1.
Visit the Facility and Find a Pet

Visitors are welcome to browse any time we are open.

2.
Meet the Pet

If visitors would like to meet a pet outside of the kennel, a staff member or volunteer can assist them.

3.
Submit Application

If it seems like a good match, the visitor will fill out a short questionnaire to help us guide their individual adoption consult.

4.
Sign Adoption Contract

All adopters sign a contract and any disclosures required for that specific animal.

5.
Pay Fee

With the exception of sponsored pets or specific promotions, all animals have an adoption fee.

6.
Take the Pet Home

Adoptions occur same day and take usually about 1 hour in total.

Additional adoption info

As of June 15, 2021 our shelter has re-opened fully to the public and is conducting adoptions first-come, first-serve.

Go meet their pets

You can meet our pets at our facility anytime during our open hours! We are open Tuesday - Sunday from the hours of 12PM - 6PM. We stop processing new adoptions at 5:30pm so if you are hoping to adopt the day you visit, please give yourself ample time to browse and meet with animals. Thanks!
