Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Have you ever felt like you have too much personal space? While watching TV, have you thought - this would be better with a 50-pound lapdog? Are 100 kisses just enough to get you through your day?
Introducing Dottie, an inspiring 4-year-old pitbull who embodies the true spirit of rescue, resilience, and hope. Saved from death row in North Carolina, Dottie has the scars of a tough start in life but managed to keep her heart open and simply bursts with love for everyone she meets.
She is ready to find a forever home that can provide the serenity and security that she has long deserved. Dottie's ideal match will be a compassionate and calm home, with a new family that has the time and patience to shower her with the unconditional love needed to help her feel safe. She would be happiest if someone was home most of the time, but she has become acclimated to spending up to 8 hours alone during the workday.
No crates for this girl as it triggers some anxiety, so we would want to discuss the potential adopter's options for keeping Dottie safely contained as she transitions in her new home. Also no cats (she loves them TOO much!). Dottie has only had positive interactions with dogs outside of the home, so we think having a canine brother or sister would be very helpful for her in gaining confidence and having company when her humans aren't around.
If you are interested, please submit your application. Please do NOT submit a Petfinder or Adoptapet inquiry nor send us an email. Thank you!

Adoption Option Dog Rescue Inc. is a nonprofit, foster-based animal rescue organization striving to decrease the number of dogs, cats, puppies and kittens in shelters. We pull unwanted dogs and cats, including pregnant and nursing mothers and their litters, from owners, pounds, animal shelters and other rescue groups and provide them with all needed medical care in loving, family-centered, foster environments before searching for adoptive families and forever homes. Adoption Option also rehabilitates and trains dogs who were abused and neglected. We seek to involve community members in rescue efforts through volunteer opportunities while educating citizens and adopters about how to best care for their pets.
