WHAT MY FOSTER SAYS: Meet Ralphy (FKA Phat Man), a dog with a personality as big as his head! This cuddly, goofy, friendly, and sweet dog is always ready to give you a warm welcome. Despite his size, Ralphy has a penchant for being a lap dog, making him the perfect companion for those who love to cuddle. His goofiness will keep you entertained, and his friendliness ensures he'll get along with everyone he meets. Ralphy is mostly a calm couch potato after enjoying at least two walks per day with lots of sniffs. He shows interest in other dogs outside but is happy to walk away with a "leave it" cue. Ralphy is also house trained and will let you know when he needs to go out. No accidents in the house for this guy!
He knows a variety of additional commands, including sit, come, wait for me, find it, and leave it. He lets us know he needs something by giving us a "boop with his nose. He is very food motivated and has shown that he can learn quickly when rewarded with food. He currently "works for his kibble and treats on training walks with his foster mom, and his leash etiquette received great feedback from a trainer. He has recently started picking up his leash and bringing it to his foster mom - what a smart boy!! Ralphy is working on his crate training and willingly goes in for a treat and is starting to choose his crate at times of his own accord.
Ralphy's sweet nature is sure to melt your heart. The world can be a little scary for Ralphy, so he needs help building his confidence in new environments. Once he acclimates to his surroundings, he is a happy guy with lots of smiles. He's a dog who's full of love and just waiting for the right person to share it with. He adores people of all ages and has never met a stranger. He is gentle with children. He has demonstrated no reaction to people entering our home, other than wanting to say hello and we are continuing to work on his jumping up to greet when excited.
Ralphy is ready for his forever home! He is a chill and sweet boy who wins over every single person he meets and quite literally "leans in" for their love. Adopting Ralphy means welcoming a bundle of joy into your life, who will not only keep you company but also fill your days with laughter and love!
