My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Clayton is a wonderful family dog. He loves children and other animals. He has been around lots of different breeds of dogs at his dog sitter’s house and cats as well. He sleeps most of the day, but loves to play tug of war and go on walks daily. He needs frequent exercise to keep his weight in a healthy range. He has a chicken stuffed animal toy that is his comfort item. He likes to suck on it while he is relaxing which is really cute. Clayton is very food motivated, so that means food needs to be kept out of reach at home or he will eat it. He also will get into trash if it is not put away. He loves being with his humans and does not like to be separated from them, so he will do best in a home where the family is home the majority of the time. Someone who works from home and has a fenced in yard would be preferable for Clayton since he does not like to be alone. He does bark when he hears noises or people/animals passing by, but it is usually short lived. He sleeps in a crate at night and is not an early riser! Additionally, he does great on car rides so he would be a great travel companion too. Clayton is 6 years old and 40lbs.
Are you interested in adopting this dog or another JCAPL pet you have seen? You'll need to start by completing an adoption application, available online at our website: www.jcapl.org. There is no obligation to adopt by completing an application, however, we do recommend submitting an application as soon as you find an animal you are interested in. We review applications in the order they are received. Completed applications can be sent via email to adopt@jcapl.org, faxed to 919-300-5524 or delivered in person by visiting us at one of our adoption events on Saturdays at PetSmart in Garner (White Oak Shopping Center). We will contact you as soon as possible once we receive your application. Thanks for thinking adoption!
