My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Imagine driving home from work , you stop at a light and happen to glance over and see a random stranger with a guy pointed at a dogs head, what do you do? In Fates case this person was her hero, they talked down the person with the gun and got Fate to safety. Fate then found herself at a high intake shelter where there was no space so she was timestamped. That's where we come in. We took Fate in several months ago and while she had had interest no one has followed through. She is high energy and takes a bit to warm up in the shelter but when she went on a sleep over it was reported she is housebroken, calms down quickly and was polite and well behaved. Fate doesn't like cats and is selective with dogs. She likes bigger kids. She is looking for a forever home or a foster. If interested you can fill out an application on our website AACNJ.ORG

Additional adoption info

Prospective parents fill out a questionnaire, and then speak with an employee at our center. We try to match the families with an appropriate pet, and arrange a "meet and greet" with the family's other pets, if needed.
Our adoption fees vary, while we believe that all of out pets are awesome, we recognize that some breeds are more desirable than others, therefore, those fees may be higher, that gives us the resources to help our medical cases and promotes our harder to place pets. All pets come spayed/neutered, up to date vaccines and microchip.

More about this shelter

We save over 900 lives per year, uniting animals rescued from high kill shelters with families looking for their new best friend. We also operate a neighborhood food bank, providing food and supplies to local citizens who cannot provide for their pets, and would have to give them up without assistance. We operate entirely on donations and money raised in fundraisers, and we have been doing so for more than 30 years!
