My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Adopt Raven! This sweet, friendly, and snuggly 6-year old boy came to FRA after a plea from a Maryland shelter with only hours to spare before he was scheduled for euthanasia due to his diabetes diagnosis -- a condition which can be fully managed with diet and insulin shots twice a day. But thankfully we were able to get him transferred into a foster home to get the care he needed.

Raven is such an angel and sits still for his shots and blood glucose readings. He makes it so easy and has been incredibly patient while his foster - who had never given a shot or cared for a diabetic cat - quickly learned to care for him. And he will help his lucky adopters as well.

Caring for a diabetic cat is easy to learn - especially with a 5-star patient like Raven. It only requires a fairly regular schedule to accommodate shots. With the help of diet and insulin shots twice a day, Raven's blood glucose is in the range of a normal, healthy cat and he's enjoying life to the fullest. There's even a chance that he could go into remission if his diabetes is managed well. Due to a food allergy, he will need to be on a special novel protein diet (rabbit), which he has thrived on.

We are so glad that this sweet, patient boy came to FRA. He's had an unfortunate start in life after losing his first home. But he has not lost faith in humanity. He is the absolute sweetest, snuggliest and most patient boy who deserves a second chance at life and with a wonderful adopter. The world is better with him in it, and so could be yours... if you're willing to give sweet Raven a home of his own.

Besides his diabetes diagnosis, Raven has a clean medical record and is up-to-date on his shots. He is neutered and has perfect litter box habits. He is very agreeable and gentle and gets along with other cats and quickly warms up to new people. But he'd also be happy to have a human all to himself. He is ready to snuggle with you in his very own home.
