My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

My father passed away recently and we inherited a large number of companion as well as farm animals, and we already had several of our own. We have tried tremendously hard to care for everyone, but we are struggling to manage our lives and give all the animals in our care the love and attention they deserve. In addition to the sheer number of animals in our care, several of them are special needs and require daily medications. We’ve been dealing with brain tumors, kidney failure, diabetes (and insulin injections), and megacolon, and despite our love, just can’t manage it anymore. We’ve also been unsuccessful finding a community member to adopt any of our pets.
We are looking for a home for Rhiannon, a cat we were fostering shortly before my dad’s passing. We adopted Rhiannon after her shelter decided to euthanize her during COVID without so much as a vet visit. Rhiannon has well managed megacolon (with medication, she has daily bowel movements) and some arthritis.
She is a shy kitty but loving girl, who used to be terrified of everyone. After a couple of years in our care, she has become a very loving moppet, leaning into chin scratches and even purring for the first time. She’s shown so much growth, and we believe she has many happy years ahead of her with a family who is open to moving at her pace.
Her medications are all taken easily mixed into food, and we’re also willing to act a sponsor for her and help a future family out with medication purchasing. We’re happy to share more about her and her needs. Please contact Katie at caitlin.richmond@gmail.com if you are able to give Rhiannon a loving home.
