My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

We have a special pup we'd love to introduce to you: meet Delta, a 7-year-old German Shepherd mix who's been waiting patiently for her forever home. And folks, she's nothing short of wonderful. Here's why Delta should be the next addition to your family:

Easy-Going & Happy
Once you get past her shyness, Delta is one of the most easy-going and cheerful dogs you'll ever meet. She knows what a loving home feels like and is more than ready to be part of yours.

Couch Cuddles? Yes, Please!
If you're in search of a furry companion to share those cozy nights in, look no further! Delta loves nothing more than cuddling up next to you on the couch.

Belly Rub Enthusiast
We can confirm that Delta absolutely adores belly rubs, and you'll be rewarded with her heartwarming smile each time you indulge her.

A Few Preferences
Delta wants us to let you know she's not the biggest fan of cats or some female dogs. She has her friends picked out carefully!

A Second Chance
Delta was adopted from ACT four years ago but was sadly returned through no fault of her own. She's a bit shy at first but warms up quickly, greeting those she adores with her infectious smile.

Stroller-Friendly Walks
Are you a parent pushing a stroller during walks? No worries! Delta is an excellent walking buddy and keeps pace perfectly beside a stroller.

Forever Home Wanted
Delta has been with us for far too long, and her one wish is for a loving, permanent home.

Get in Touch!

More about this rescue

The vision for ACT has been brewing in the minds of the Animal Compassion Team founders for many years. The paths we have walked have prepared us and tested our determination through hard work, buckets of tears, mountains of fecal matter (a favorite topic of discussion amongst animal rescuers), and more than our fair share of discouragement and heartbreak. Having said that, why would we choose to dive in deeper? For the love of the animals we serve. It is just that simple. Dogs, cats, and other wonderful animals are dying in huge numbers daily. We hope to help change that. In August of 2009, we became a 501(c)3 non-profit corporation with California and the Federal Government. It was and continues to be, a huge leap of faith for all of us who already feel overwhelmed by the work we are doing, but we believe this is the time....this is what we have all been preparing for. One life saved makes all the effort and emotional investment worthwhile. This is going to be an exciting journey, and we hope to post MANY happy endings.

Our Mission Statement:

To provide a safe haven for domestic animals, regardless of breed or species, through rescue, rehabilitation, adoption, and sanctuary. To advocate for the humane treatment of animals and promote the human-animal bond. To educate the public about the importance of kindness, compassion, and responsible pet ownership which will emphasize spaying and neutering. To cooperate and work with other animal rescues and shelters towards the goal of becoming a no-kill nation.
