My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Lolly, a 3-year-old hound mix who is as sweet as her name suggests. With her soft eyes and playful demeanor, she's quick to steal hearts and spread joy wherever she goes. Lolly is the epitome of affection, always ready to dish out hugs and happily receiving belly rubs in return.

But don't let her sweetness fool you-Lolly is also a bundle of energy! She loves to play and would be thrilled to join you on hikes or as an exercise partner. She even enjoys a game of fetch to burn off that boundless energy. And did we mention she loves water? Pool days and beach outings are a must!

Lolly is a social butterfly and gets along wonderfully with other dogs, making her an ideal addition to a multi-pet home. She's a hit with children of all ages, from the tiny tots to the older, more considerate kids. This girl knows her basic commands, is leash trained, and can even sit on cue. And when the day is done, she transforms into the ultimate snuggle buddy, curling up beside you for some well-deserved rest.

A quick note: Lolly is a bit of an escape artist and has been known to jump fences, so a secure yard or active supervision is needed to keep her safe.

If you're looking for a versatile, loving companion who is as comfortable on an adventurous trek as she is cuddled up on the couch, Lolly is your girl. Come meet this beautiful hound mix and let the lifelong friendship begin!

More about this rescue

The vision for ACT has been brewing in the minds of the Animal Compassion Team founders for many years. The paths we have walked have prepared us and tested our determination through hard work, buckets of tears, mountains of fecal matter (a favorite topic of discussion amongst animal rescuers), and more than our fair share of discouragement and heartbreak. Having said that, why would we choose to dive in deeper? For the love of the animals we serve. It is just that simple. Dogs, cats, and other wonderful animals are dying in huge numbers daily. We hope to help change that. In August of 2009, we became a 501(c)3 non-profit corporation with California and the Federal Government. It was and continues to be, a huge leap of faith for all of us who already feel overwhelmed by the work we are doing, but we believe this is the time....this is what we have all been preparing for. One life saved makes all the effort and emotional investment worthwhile. This is going to be an exciting journey, and we hope to post MANY happy endings.

Our Mission Statement:

To provide a safe haven for domestic animals, regardless of breed or species, through rescue, rehabilitation, adoption, and sanctuary. To advocate for the humane treatment of animals and promote the human-animal bond. To educate the public about the importance of kindness, compassion, and responsible pet ownership which will emphasize spaying and neutering. To cooperate and work with other animal rescues and shelters towards the goal of becoming a no-kill nation.
