My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Say hello to Jell-O, the terrier-lab mix who is guaranteed to bring a spoonful of joy to your life! Just like his namesake, there's always room for Jell-O in any family, outing, or heart. This fun-loving guy is a playgroup rockstar, holding his own in the yard with other dogs and flourishing in social situations. If you're a regular at the dog park, prepare for Jell-O to be the life of the party!

Not only is Jell-O great with other dogs, but he's also a total charmer around people. With his leash-trained manners, he walks like a dream, making him the ideal companion for outdoor adventures. Whether it's a hiking trip or a simple walk around the neighborhood, Jell-O is eager to accompany you. Did we mention he's an excellent passenger for car rides? That's right, Jell-O is more than ready to hit the road for your summer escapades.

With his playful disposition and outgoing personality, Jell-O is the epitome of a social butterfly. If you're in the market for a friendly, large-dog-friendly fur buddy who loves meeting new dogs and humans alike, look no further. Jell-O is waiting to wobble his way into your life and make it sweeter than ever!

More about this rescue

The vision for ACT has been brewing in the minds of the Animal Compassion Team founders for many years. The paths we have walked have prepared us and tested our determination through hard work, buckets of tears, mountains of fecal matter (a favorite topic of discussion amongst animal rescuers), and more than our fair share of discouragement and heartbreak. Having said that, why would we choose to dive in deeper? For the love of the animals we serve. It is just that simple. Dogs, cats, and other wonderful animals are dying in huge numbers daily. We hope to help change that. In August of 2009, we became a 501(c)3 non-profit corporation with California and the Federal Government. It was and continues to be, a huge leap of faith for all of us who already feel overwhelmed by the work we are doing, but we believe this is the time....this is what we have all been preparing for. One life saved makes all the effort and emotional investment worthwhile. This is going to be an exciting journey, and we hope to post MANY happy endings.

Our Mission Statement:

To provide a safe haven for domestic animals, regardless of breed or species, through rescue, rehabilitation, adoption, and sanctuary. To advocate for the humane treatment of animals and promote the human-animal bond. To educate the public about the importance of kindness, compassion, and responsible pet ownership which will emphasize spaying and neutering. To cooperate and work with other animal rescues and shelters towards the goal of becoming a no-kill nation.
