My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Jolene, Jolene, Jolene, Joleeeeeene! Your beauty is beyond compare, with flaming locks of auburn hair.!
I can't believe Dolly Parton wrote that song about ME!

As I am a bit reserved until I get to know you, I'm not one to put myself in your path to grab attention, but as t they say, to know me is to love me, and once you take the time to get to know me, you'll find out about my charming habits.
I love dog beds. Can't get enough of those snuggly things. Best invention EVER! Give me something to play with -- treats, toys, trinkets, whatever -- and I will bury it. What a fun game for me and you to play! I am an excellent conversationalist, so you and I can share stories about our days. And please take me on walks-- I love them! I'm not a speed walker though. I love to take my sweet time to smell the roses, explore, and sample the fine grasses of the Lowcountry.
I'm not a fan of dogs and kids, and have not been around cats. My best dreams include a forever home with you where I am your one and only. Wouldn't you love to take leisurely strolls with me into the sunset?

More about this rescue

Palmetto Animal League is a private, non-profit, No Kill animal rescue organization that believes every animal deserves a second chance at life.

PAL’s Adoption Center, located in Okatie, South Carolina, serves as a temporary residence for approximately 200 dogs and cats while they wait to find a loving home. Our comfortable, upbeat facility is also home to PAL’s Community Clinic, which offers wellness exams, vaccines and other vital services to pet owners at affordable prices.

In addition, Palmetto Animal League manages a network of loving foster families to house and care for abandoned animals.
