My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Duchess is a true diva as most gorgeous cats are! She is sweet, and very talkative. She likes to play minimally; she is very, very timid. She was most happy in a house with me and my older cat who didn't pay her any attention, and when she lived with my parents who had a older dog who didn't pay her attention and a very chill cat who snuggled with her. She is best suited to a quiet home, because she HATES my two year old and ten month old. They terrify her. She loves treats and looking at her person, though she is not snuggly she does come up for attention and loves her chin scratched. I fondly refer to her a ornamental: she loves to be close enough to see you and hear you, but not to be touched unless she's ready.

Our adoption process involves completing a one-page adoption application. Applications are processed within 48 hours.

Adoption fees for cats/kittens are $130.00. All cats/kittens have been wormed, altered, tested for feline leukemia, given age-appropriate vaccinations, and are microchipped.

Adoption fees for dogs/puppies are $300.00 All dogs/puppies have been wormed, altered, tested for heart worm, given age-appropriate vaccinations, and are microchipped.

We also offer our Senior for Senior program matching senior animals to people over the age of 63. Adoption fees are waived for this program.

More about this rescue

Camp Companion is a 501c3 organization established in 2003.

Based in Rochester MN, the organization is totally driven by volunteers.

Camp Companion is dedicated to providing low-cost spay and neuter services for feral, farm and stray companion animals. The organization is funded solely by donations, fundraisers, grants, and adoption fees. All funds we receive are used for veterinary expenses and the cost of care incurred for the animals waiting for their forever homes.

Through our spay / neuter efforts, we encounter kittens and stray domestic cats that need rescue services and a forever home. We have no shelter, but rely on foster homes to care for these rescued pets. Every animal we offer for adoption is spayed or neutered.
