Weighing about 45 lbs and boasting a stunning blond and white coat that is the softest you’ve ever felt, Goldie is as beautiful as she is loving. This adorable and sweet 11 month old girl is ready to steal your heart with her endless devotion and irresistible charm!

Goldie has the perfect energy level for a family dog. In her foster home, we work from home all day. She gets breakfast in the morning, about 15 minutes of fetch or chase in the yard, then lays at our feet for the next 2-3 hours while we work. If she gets bored, she will get up and play with her toys, or chew on a bone, all by herself. She loves to go in and out of the house as she pleases. We will often see her sunbathing outside in the grass for hours.

At lunch we take her for a walk, or do a little fetch or chase in the yard. We do give her pets and kisses whenever she asks for them (about 4-5 times through the workday), but otherwise she just hangs out. We only take her on one walk a day, and sometimes not even that. She never complains, or gets destructive, or bored. After dinner, she just naps until bedtime. She’s a quiet girl who doesn’t bark, only whines a little bit here and there.

Goldie recently passed her Camp Bow Wow interview and is now a doggy daycare girl. She does excellent at daycare and all the dogs and staff just love her. She is so versatile and can make either a great office buddy, or have a blast at daycare. She loves playing with the kids in the home. She did jump up on the little one at first, but she is quickly learning that it’s rude. Now she mostly just covers him in a million kisses. She’s never mouthy or nippy like most puppies. If she jumps up on you, you just say “sit” and she will immediately sit and wait for reward of pets.

Goldie is incredibly smart and has a great foundation in house manners. She has never had any potty accidents in our home, she is almost always quiet in her crate, she rarely counter or table surfs and corrects very quickly and easily, and she doesn’t bark at the neighbors barky dogs. She learns incredibly fast and could really thrive doing obedience training or even agility or sniff work. She takes treats so gently that even my 4 year old can give them to her and not worry about getting nipped. And when it comes to dinner time, she will sit patiently while you put her bowl down for her.

One of our favorite things about Goldie is how she does a big bunny hop and pounce when she plays fetch. It is hilarious to watch and will bring you so much laughter and joy. You can see some of that in her videos here: https://youtu.be/vijNmZax79U
And here: https://youtu.be/UNcJlkFULMI

A social butterfly through and through, Goldie loves nothing more than meeting new people and making friends wherever she goes. Her affectionate nature and gentle demeanor win over hearts in no time. Her social skills extend to other dogs as well, making her a great playmate and companion for a doggy sibling (but no kitties please).

Though she does pull a little on leash, a gentle leader or training collar can help her stay on track as she explores the world around her. She loves going on car rides, but she does have some anxiety once it starts moving. Riding in a crate seems to really give her the sense of security she needs.

Goldie is pretty versatile and could live in just about any family or home. Since she’s quiet, she could live in an apartment if there are places like a dog park where she can get out her energy, but I know she would also love a home with a yard where she can sunbathe and zoomie whenever she wants. She could live with kids, or without. She could live with other confident dogs, or as an only dog.

With her impeccable house manners and affectionate, social demeanor, Goldie is the perfect companion. So what are you waiting for? Come meet Goldie today and prepare to fall head over heels in love!

Why adopt from Three Little Pitties?

The stray and animal overpopulation in the Greater Houston area is the highest in the nation. Statistics show that there are over 1 million homeless animals in this region alone. Three Little Pitties Rescue is a nonprofit dog and cat rescue that partners with the community to make a difference. Our mission is to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and saving all breeds of dogs and cats from the streets or animal shelters that oftentimes have no other option but to euthanize animals for space. This dog you’ve found online is lucky to be in our program, and even luckier to have you notice it!

Three Little Pitties wants to set you and your new pet up for success! We know our dogs and we work hard to prepare them socially for adoption. We are a network of dedicated people who are heavily invested in seeing our animals thrive. From the moment they are accepted into our program, our Intake, Behavior & Medical teams prepare them for adoption by properly vetting, behaviorally assessing, and providing customized plans depending on the dog’s needs. We seek to adopt to families who understand that these are rescue dogs and will require continued training efforts, but will be well on their way to being the best dogs that they can be!

It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these special perks:

• 30 day trial of pet insurance with Trupanion (must register within 24 hours of first vet appt.)
• A free private online dog training session with GoodPup plus low pricing for future sessions (approx $25 weekly for an 8 week course of one session per week)
• One free bonus toy in every BarkBox when signing up for their Super Chewer subscription plan
• 70% off of your first order of Fetch, a PNW based, organic fresh dog food loaf meal subscription plan
• Coupons for a fun visit to Petco
• Access to our exclusive FB Adopters page, where you can network for play dates, resources, and connect with other adopters that share their passion for their adopted pup!

We celebrated our 5 year anniversary this year! Through the combined efforts of all of our hardworking staff and volunteers, we have placed over 12,000 very lucky dogs and cats into amazing homes! By adopting from us, you save TWO lives! The pet you adopt, and you create an opportunity for another animal to be saved in that spot. Together, we can be heroes.
