My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Please read the bio in full for answers to your questions. In the event you have a question that is not covered in the bio, please email info@seniordoghaven.org. If interested in adopting, please complete an adoption application which can be found at https://seniordoghaven.org/adoption-process/.

Please note that because all of our dogs live in foster homes, we are unable to set up meetings with a dog unless we have a completed adoption application on file. Adoptions must be about an hour of Wilmington, DE in order for our volunteers to be able to conduct an in person home visit.

Blue is a beautiful, eight year old beagle girl who was surrendered by her owner of all 8 years at no fault of her own. She is loving, mild mannered and medium energy. She loves a nice walk, but will follow that with a nap in the sun spot. She is very food crazed, but what beagle isn’t? She can be left on her own in the run of the home with no issues.

Blue gets along great with the other dogs of all sizes in her foster home. She ignores the cats (unless they are offering to share some leftover food). She is also good with people/children of all sizes! She is only vocal when hearing noises such as trash trucks, sirens, etc, so if you live in a very urban area/close to neighbors, she might bark. Blue walks and sniffs nicely on a leash, and rides well in the car (although she loves to stick her head out with ears flapping like the Red Baron!)

She is housetrained, but seems to need to get out on a consistent basis. She will pee on the command of “go pee pee.” She will burrow under your covers if you let her, but agrees to sleep in her dog bed if necessary.

Blue is a sweet and smart Snoopy girl…..no family member could ever “wake up on the wrong side of the bed” upon enjoying this sweet face nuzzling you!
