My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Captain Curiosity is one success story!  He was born in a garage and when the elderly woman who fed his mama was no longer able to, her family looked for a rescue to help.  In came Whiskers, Tails and Ferals and this little runt was saved. Because of his rough start and bad cold before his eyes even opened, we weren't able to save his eyes. Although he's blind, his foster walked in the kitten room one day to see him at four months old, atop the six-foot-high kitten enclosure!  She blocked the fencing and within a week, he learned to climb the door like his siblings!  Speaking of siblings, he's best buddies with his brother, Peachy Montague. Although they are NOT bonded and can easily be adopted separately, you've got built in buddies with these two! They tear after each other in the house!

He doesn't let his lack of eyesight stop him and he's ventured out to the whole house.  He's very adept and learns quickly!  He's grown up with two dogs and isn't bothered by them, nor the household kitties or fosters.   He loves a good pet and scratch at his tail and gives you a sweet purr in return. He is a snuggler and because of his lack of eyesight, tends to flop onto you in interesting ways---half on lap/half off, at bedtime on your neck or arm...he loves to snuggle!!! He'll periodically give out a little meow to know where you are and when you call, he comes. He's happy in the room with you, but also is independent and able to chill on his own away from you, too. Captain is a curious boy who is able to find almost all the same spots his siblings find. He loves to snuggle in bed at night with his foster, curled up right at her side. Obviously he would do best in a household with older, less rambunctious people and pets!  He is a daily reminder of success in overcoming adversity! P.S. Check out his angel wings shaped by his tabby coloring!

More about this rescue

Whiskers, Tails and Ferals is a network of volunteers and foster families caring for dogs, puppies, cats, and kittens who have been abandoned, are feral, or are facing the threat of being euthanized at an animal shelter.
All dogs and cats that come into our program are spayed or neutered, are tested for either heartworm or FeLV and possibly FIV, vaccinated, wormed (as needed) and micro-chipped. The Vallejo location only handles cats.
All sick animals are immediately put under the care and supervision of a Napa veterinarian and Whiskers, Tails and Ferals pays for their medications.
The cats and kittens that are not able to be tamed, are spayed or neutered, vaccinated and returned to their colonies where colony guardians continue to feed and care for them.
